An AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, a 40-caliber handgun and ammunition were found at the scene. That same month, a gunman fatally shot three officers and injured three others in Baton Rouge, La. The gunman was killed during a shootout. This was one of the deadliest recent attacks on law enforcement in the United States. Eight officers were wounded during the shootout and taken to hospitals. Three were pronounced dead on arrival, and another died from his injuries on Monday night.

There will be food trucks, games and live music. The City of Cherryville’s Independence Day Celebration takes place Wednesday, July 3, 2024, from 6 to 10 p.m., at Rudisill Stadium, which is next to W.B. Beam Intermediate School, 401 East First Street, Cherryville, NC. The 4th of July celebration features live music from The Tams and is hosted by DJ Johnny B., followed by fireworks.
